Near. Far...
The results of the echo cardiogram are in!

As Celine might say, "I believe that my heart wil go oooooon."

Man. I'm going to be the healthiest person you've ever seen suddenly and inexplicably drop dead.

So have any of the doctors shrugged and referred you to a psychiatrist yet? ;)

I initially chuckled when somebody suggested it might be caused by stress, since I've never heard of anyone being stressed enough to wreak that degree of havoc on their own core circulatory system, but do the medical professionals consider it a possibility?

I mean, WTF?? Your heart's fine. Your lungs are fine. Blood pressure's fine (right?). Why the hell would oxygen not be getting to the rest of your body? Some kind of chemical deficiency in your blood? A clot somewhere? All those tests they did already should've caught those possibilities, right??

Eat some meat...

I have considered Psychotherapy. :/

The problem with the whole "stress/anxiety" link, for me, deals with the fact that I had trouble breathing last August/September. It subsided in October on its own. Then it started up again, even more severe, at the end of March/beginning of April.

From October through the first of the year I went through my job's "Peak Season," and it was the most stressful one I've had to deal with yet. During and after that I was dealing with the emotional trauma of what my Grandfather as well as my family were going through. I don't know that I've ever dealt with as much stress as I did between October '07 and February '08. And yet, that's when I was perfectly fine.

I'm having my adrenal glands tested on Thursday. They regulate things like adrenaline and anxiety and such. There's a very good chance this could lead to something. After that I'm setting up an appointment to find out any and every allergy I might possess.

After that my doctor tells me he doesn't know where else to turn, so a therapist might be in my future.

Oh, and my blood's been tested for most everything, including clotting. It's all perfectly normal.

Methinks it's time to go to the Mayo Clinic.

You can't just "go" to the Mayo clinic. It's like the Supreme Court. You get referred there, and then they take a look at your case and say, "Nah, we got bigga fish to fry."

I doubt my case would even be considered for a moment.

Not unless you happen to know someone who's dating someone who's mother is a doctor there...

If she's worth half her weight in salt I'd, at the very least, appreciate just a mention that you know a guy who hates Doctors. Case in point; he's experiencing constant shortness of breath and fatigue. When he exerts himself he gets dramatic discoloration under the eyes as well as light-headedness and headaches. He's also noticed a lack of mental acuity (sharpness). He wakes up in the middle of the night feeling as though he's about to suffocate and then has difficulty falling back asleep due to an understandable uptick in anxiety. The constant feeling that he's not getting enough oxygen is the main symptom, however.

He's has a full Pulmonary Function Test and scored average to above average. He's had a large variety of blood tests. Oxygenation is normal. EKG normal. X-rays appear normal. Echo Cardiogram revealed heart to be perfectly healthy. Liver is healthy. Kidneys are healthy. Asthma inhaler has no effect on symptoms. Not currently dealing with heavy, anxiety-causing issues (other than dealing with these symptoms). He's at his wit's end dealing with doctors who are taking a lot of his time and offering nothing in return.

Really, I just wish I had a doctor who knew what he was doing. I had a doctor like that once, but he's in limited practice and difficult to see within a timely manner (takes a month or more to secure an appointment). I feel like I'm dealing with amateurs and that's the most frustrating part. It seems as though, were I to deal with someone knowledgeable, I should already be on the road to recovery.

Instead I just want to throw myself under a bus.

I'll forward your symptoms on and let you know what I find out.
