A dime for your thoughts
I'm trying to get an interview with a really cool act that I dig. I have a relationship with the record label said artist is on, so I emailed them. The promotional manager emailed me back to let me know that all interviews are being handled through the band's manager, and gave me his email. I emailed the manager to ask if the band was available for an interview only to receive a reply saying that the manager would have to ask the band if they would be available for an interview.

Y'know, I used to have a much easier time buying drugs from people I'd never gone through before. There was always a lot of runaround and you had to go through a few different people, but at least you would end up high after all the hard work. I have a feeling I won't be high this time so much as high and dry.

This reminds me of a recent anti-drug commercial I saw. Most of them are absurd, but this one was so bad it made me laugh out loud.

It shows a kid going to his closet and getting his guitar, and another kid going into their closet and getting what appears to be some sort of sports trophy, and then ends in them setting these items on fire with a voice over "DRUGS: THEY COST MORE THAN YOU THINK!"

So I'm trying to think to myself, now who is BETTER known for drug use and abuse than rock stars, and other musicians, as well as professional athletes? I came to no good conclusion, other than the fact that I think these commercials are actually attempting to lure people into doing even more drugs.

I always thought these commercials were produced solely as entertainment for people who are high. Because, speaking from experience, I rarely laughed as hard at anything on television as I did when I was stoned and saw one of these antidrug spots.

The one where the car filled with smoke belted through the McDonald's drive-thru and hit a little girl on a bicycle actually made me soil myself.
