I had a whole weekend to catch up on reviews. I have about five to write. There are two Metropolis releases out Tuesday and I've only finished one. That would be the review for A Kiss Could Be Deadly's Self-Titled release. My thanks to

In addition to the albums I already have that are waiting for review, Projekt is sending me the new Attrition and Dancing Ferret is sending me the latest releases from Qntal and Lunascape, so I'd best do some fucking catching up.

I've been on a real Stooges kick lately. Not the comedy troupe. I'm referring to the legendary Iggy Pop-led act from the late Sixties, early Seventies. It's all I've been wanting to listen to lately. Well, that and Meshuggah. Heh.

So tomorrow (today) is St. Patrick's Day. If you care, I don't really get it. To me it's amateur night. It's a time for people who aren't Irish to pretend they are and listen to shitty renditions of Irish music. Well, fuck those people. I'm going to Hard Mondays at The Saloon. Know why? Because there won't be some crappy folk act bastardizing music from a different culture they know little about. There will be two magnificent Industrial/Rhythmic Noise/Powernoise acts playing for free. Alter Der Ruine are fucking fantastic and W.A.S.T.E. are pretty damn good too. This is where you should be tonight. 9th and Hennipen. 10pm. Be there or be with the wannabes. This is coming from someone of direct Irish descent. And I never got a satisfactory answer out of Gramps before he died regarding why the O' was dropped from our last name. It bothers me.

Oh, and after partying with drok_vox Saturday night, I find out today that he has deleted his journal. Apparently he's come to the misguided conclusion that Lj is for "amateurs" and that a "real writer" uses Blogspot, or some such nonsense. It's unfortunate since I only use Lj and not Blogspot or Myspace or Facebook or any of those other overrated, pansy-ass sites. What a bastard prick.
